Prompt Card Creation: Stage One
We spent the last couple of days printing 260 of our branded prompt cards ready for Day One of people scrawling on them.
Stage one was the fun part with satisfying results, printing and looking cool hanging out at Printclub London. Nice.
These are some photos of the finished printed sheets, ready for stage two...

YCN Live launch night.
First batch of postcards collected at Underground Village, amazing reactions from all and sundry, out of the 30 people participating not one of them was a natural left-hander. Lots of fun was had by all, free booze and free balloons went down down a treat and lots of positive responses to our prompt cards. And some rude ones...

Day One (30.08.08)
Day Three (01.09.08)
Welcome.
Hello Folks.
but we will present them with a prompt card and ask them to draw their response with their left hand directly onto a screen printed postcard.
All images contributed will be used to create several series. Each series consisting of 26 postcards, ranging from A-Z. These will be distributed throughtout various locations in London (keep an eye out on this blog for locations).
The postcards will be presented as a body of work produced from an emerging collective of unknown left handed illustrators. Our aim is to get Butchers, Firemen, Traffic Wardens, Taxi Drivers, Street Urchins, Park Keepers, and any old joe to produce a quick self promotional piece in the hope that they may be commisioned as an illustrator.
We will be collecting images for three days, starting on the Southbank (30.08.08), followed by Covent Garden (31.08.08) and finally ending up on Brick Lane (01.09.08). See the maps posted here for exact areas we will be covering.
We plan to display all imagery at Rough Trade (TBC), when we know for sure we'll post the exact location of the venue.
In the future 'I Prompt You' plan to flypost prompt posters that can be drawn on, photographed and submitted here, as well as blank prompt postcards to send to friends, or yourself, asking the postie to draw something nice for you, the possibilities are endless, lets get everyone drawn in and drawing.
We are not elitist and will display all images submitted to us, apart from obviously offensive nonsense sent to us by morons.
Cheers.
'I Prompt You' is a Mass Collective.
Images collected from strangers in the street, who are not aware they are illustrators at all. They might not even like drawing, but we will present them with a prompt card and ask them to draw their response with their left hand directly onto a screen printed postcard.
